| Stone Temple Pilots – Maver Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Great to hear Scott singing about something different then addict's life. Maver is a great song from a great album. And it just gets better with every listen. | |
| The Black Crowes – Nonfiction Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Any idea what's the meaning behind this one? It seems to be about life of a stereotype rock musician. He has an affair with a prostitue(I don't beg, I pay, I don't barter). He also has his own problems(maybe drugs) that are killing him(Clouds conspire/Above my head/I overheard them/Say I wish he was dead). The guy is an independent type, with no authorities and a will to live a full life. Did Chris write this about himself or some of his friends? |

| Led Zeppelin – Ten Years Gone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Absolutely their two best songs: The Rain Song and Ten Years Gone. They just can't get out off ones head over years. | |
| The Black Crowes – Descending Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The chorus makes me wonder. "Curses Curses and clues Just a feast, feast for fools" If the song is about drug addiction, then 'the fest of fools' might be a symbol of empty hedonism present in addict's lifestyle. What about "curses and clues"? Is related to constant frustation while seeking a way to get clean? Any other idea people? Also, to bring up some discussion, I've heard that the song may be about Chris' bi-polar tendencies. Chris is a wierd lyricst. He can write some fantastic stuff(like this one), but also complete shit. Anyway, Crowes are a great band. |

| Scott Weiland – Son Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Anybody has an idea from where comes the 'acoustic' version of this song? I've found it on sort of 'Stone Temple Pilots Unplugged' compilation. Seems to be a demo version cosidering the quality of sound, but can anybody confirm it? | |
| Pearl Jam – Speed of Sound Lyrics | 16 years ago |

The song is obviously about living with regrets. The lyrical subjest can't forgive himself committing the same mistakes ("Every time I get me some it gets the best of me"). They led to beeing left by somebody, preferably by partner(or he have repeated them towards some more former partners. Then it would have more sense, considering that he wants to give himself another chance). Now alone ("It's gone so quiet now"), he's longing after her ("A whisper in the dark/Is that you or just my thoughts"). In the end he also notices becoming a recluse. These are my three cents. Great song, wonder how it'll sound on the album. One more: Sorry for my english:). |

| Jerry Cantrell – Gone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Considering that the whole stanza is probably about suicide("Homing on traces of light, that distance fades"), then that must be that 'strong yet simple drive'. Thanks MMQC for your help:). | |
| Chris Cornell – Preaching The End of The World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
As mentioned before, I think that the whole 'end of the world' concept was only a certain way to express his need to 'fill some void'. Maybe it was inspired by the 'apocalyptical hype' around the end of century? Any way, the lyrics fantastically describe the need of having somebody near in harder times... just for the sake of not beeing alone. "not for a lifetime or forever and a day 'Cause we know now that just won't be the case There will be no commitment and no confessions And no little secrets to keep No little children or houses with roses just the end of the world and me" |
