| i personally think it is about the negatives that come with use of a substance. Referring to the day after and looking for a different ride(not role?) "got a funny feeling i cant get high (not hide?) maybe referring to resistance that builds with substance abuse....anyway i dont think its a reference to a specific drug, especially cocaine, besides ice usually refers to methamphetamine....black sabbath already did a song about cocaine its named snowblind | |

From a not so subjective veiw im pretty sure this song is about opiates probably heroin but the lyrics lean twards opium....if you did youre research (which u wont do) you would know that the opium poppy is a flower that produces morphine and codeine, and other chemicals that we use to make heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone(vicodin) and other prescription painkillers. the opium poppys real name is papaver somniferum, meaning the sleep bearing poppy. in my opinion when she says paper floers she is making a play on the word papaver...when they are grown for propagation they are grown in giant feilds... hence "in my field of paper flowers and candy clouds of lullaby i lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me" (talking about getting high) "i linger in the doorway of alarm clock screaming monsters calling my name let me stay where the wind will whisper to me where the raindrops as they're falling tell a story" (an elaborate way of explaining the pain of coming down off of an opiate high and wanting more of the beautiful comfort they bring.) "don't say i'm out of touch with this rampant chaos - your reality i know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge the nightmare i built my own world to escape" (the opiate(addiction) is her escape or her "world" and its obvious she is loosing touch with life) "swallowed up in the sound of my screaming cannot cease for the fear of silent nights oh how i long for the deep sleep dreaming the goddess of imaginary light"(the terrible effects of an opiate addiction depression, sleeplessness, and severe cravings for "the goddess of imaginary light" if you have ever seriously dealt with opiates you would totaly see where im coming from... |

Absinthe is an amazing thing i had a pint of it on the way to see them last september, i also had around ten beers and half a valume..........lots of vomit that night it was so FUCKING METAL but yeah i recommend buying some absinthe i had the Absenth variety | |
