Ha! I actually know this! It's about Teddy Thompson, and the two of them became friends when they were both living in LA. Rufus himself is the 'homo' in question, and Teddy had a job at a hairdresser's, and I think the hairdresser sort of initiated him into the world of partying, and together Rufus and the hairdresser turned Teddy from a scruffpot into a well groomed person, hence 'becoming the one desire of every woman's heart'. I think the song is supposed to be advice to TT because he basically appears to have a few issues and one would guess from this song that Rufus worries about him. Very sweet. |
