I was just listening to this song outside on a perfect day with the sun shining and a bbq going, and it definitely made me feel like one of the beautiful people, because I had the key. Even if John said rich fag jew, it doesn't matter. I read that he once sang it during recording, but not that he wrote the whole song about Epstein. Anyway, This song has to be seen in the context of Magical Mystery Tour. If you are alive in 1967, doing acid and being a hippie, this song is about you. When you're listening to the album as a whole, this song is just another stop on the tour. The "money in a big brown bag inside a zoo" part is about not caring about money. You're a rich man, but you just throw your money in a bag and toss it in a zoo. What a thing to do! Maybe they could just care less where the money is, and that's why they're rich. |
