To me this song has a very deep meaning that reflects on society and us as humans. I find these things we love, be they people or animals, etc and we love them so much we want to keep them with us. We want them to live in our house, we want to immerse them in our lives and the things we do and say etc. By doing this we end up killing the thing we love about them, their originality. We make them just like us and then eventually have to move on to the next "pet". The music adds a jaunty spin on an otherwise dark meaning and I absolutely love it!!! |

Golly I love this song. To me she's singing about meeting a new person whom you totally click with. You can be weird and odd with them, you're both on the same path. She's pretty sure of their compatibility despite other people perhaps warning her against it. The other person isn't totally ready to be all there with her either, so she makes it known that as soon as they are... it will all work out and she'll be there for them like the other loves in their life. That my take on it :o) ? |

To me, this song is about a man who is totally broken down from life. He's ready to give up on everything, when he meets a woman. She's full of life and zest and she promises to help heal his soul. She stays by his side, mending him, and in time he becomes whole again. Once he's whole she needs him, and he's there for her. I absolutely adore this song. |
