Rise Against – The Unraveling Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is about the truth coming out. All the things people cover up eventually 'unravel' for everyone else to see. The song could be both personal and political.

Fuck the elite is what this song is about.

Rise Against – A Gentlemen's Coup Lyrics 14 years ago
When I listen to this song I imagine a post-apocalyptic world after a nuclear war. Civilization as we know it is gone; no more government, no more elite, no more poor people. Everything is fair. It's the people's world now, and everyone has equal control. They feel they should have burnt down the way of society earlier, so that everyone could live like that without having to go through a nuclear war.

Lupe Fiasco – Kick Push Lyrics 14 years ago
You always have that one thing you remember a friend for; I'll always remember one of my friends for showing me this song and introducing me to the world of Lupe Fiasco.

The chorus is just...damn. It sounds like listening to the death of the world, in a good way.

Lupe Fiasco – I Don't Wanna Care Right Now Lyrics 14 years ago
This is the reason Lupe hates being with Atlantic. This is the definition of a great artist being forced to commercialize his music to appeal to the retards who enjoy pointless club beats and zippity zappity fun sounds. You can tell which songs on the record are mostly Lupe's own creation and which ones he was forced to put on to be able to release the record. I really hope he leaves Atlantic soon.

Rise Against – Architects Lyrics 14 years ago
Freaking loving this song! It sounds a lot like their older stuff which is great. The song is about how today there aren't many people who stand up for what we want: revolutionaries. Today we just accept what is given to us, not knowing that we CAN make a difference. We can fight for change. We're scared of taking chances like the revolutionaries before us, who made America what is is. But now that the 'man' is taking away the rights those of previous generations fought so hard for, we need a new breed of revolutionaries. I'm all for violent revolution by the way.

Another thing, the line: "Don't you remember when you were young ,and you wanted to set the world on fire?", is a reference to Against Me!'s song "I Was A Teenage Anarchist", which has the same line. IS there a connection between Rise Against and Against Me! (other than the 'against') that would make Tim reference the song this way? Just curious.

Rise Against – Generation Lost Lyrics 15 years ago
For the "She screams out the window" part, I always thought if she being 'Lady Liberty', as in our freedom. Our freedoms keep changing because of the government, and Lady Liberty is sick of changing all the time, not knowing what she'll be next year. Why can't the government make up its mind?

Rise Against – Hero of War Lyrics 16 years ago
It's simple, the song is about how regular citizens see soldiers as these heroes who can't do wrong, when really, the soldiers know that they can make mistakes, and when they do it's hard to live with the guilt.

Rise Against – The Good Left Undone Lyrics 16 years ago
All because of you,
I believe in angels.
Not the kind with wings,
No, not the kind with halos,
The kind that bring you home,
When home becomes a strange place.
I'll follow your voice,
All you have to do is shout it out.

I get goosebumps EVERY SINGLE TIME I HEAR THIS PART. such an intense song.

Green Day – Whatsername Lyrics 16 years ago
Actually Mary Jane means marijuana.

Anyways this song kind of depresses me, even though it's not supposed to be depressing. I've never been so emotionally connected with an album than I have with American Idiot. It's like watching a movie and seeing the characters progress throughout the story, and I think Green Day did an amazing job of actually making characters in this album that you can feel for. That's probably why this song depresses me, it's the end of an amazing story, but it's sort of a bitter sweet ending because JoS still loves Whatsername, but the only thing he can do now is forget about her, because he knows he'll never see her again.

I still can't believe how beautiful this album is. I love Green Day.

Green Day – Viva la Gloria! Lyrics 16 years ago
this is by far my favorite song on the album, which is AMAZING btw

just one correction i have to make:
"Eternal youth
is the landscape of life"
should be:
"Eternal youth
is the landscape of the lie"
