o what's your deal? do you not realize that a lot of guys actually talk like this, and think like this? also many brits really do look down on americans, especially about things like football. so why is it that unbelievable to you that this "joke story" is not about the band themselves? think about it, a brit comes to america, fancies himself a very fetching highschool cheerleader, wants her, but hates her ideals. he just wants the sex. it's just a hilarious take on how things actually are. of course you might not be one of those girls, or those guys. hell, alot of us are definitely not. but i know quite a few girls who literally have the brain capacity of a slug, but of course, some of them are still attractive to me. maybe not in the dateable sense, but still attractive. many highschools go to cancun on spring break, maybe he's older and can just decide to go.. i don't want to get into more examples, other people have. in life you can say 10000 things to a girl you love, but she'll love a douchebag. i've been there. so why is this so hard for you to understand? i know about and have experienced each type of person this song is about. so for me, it's not hard to understand. anyway i guess i went on a rant, because you're hating hard, just because it's not for you. my main point was, do you actually think hipsters are the only people who act like this? these "hipsters" (even though they started as a joke) are actually brilliant for capturing it so well, but that's just to me. thanks, thinking about it more in depth makes me like the song more. |

the time has come, this is really over this song's about the relationship that ended so painfully for andy that in retrospect he feels it probably wasn't worth chasing the spark i know that's how i relate to the song, and it seems pretty obvious, not sure it is but it captures the feeling really well for me. there's something about the end with the yelling and the catchy guitar that makes me hopeful for the future though! it does something amazing in that regard, more of a sad song, but keeps me upbeat |
