I'd like to say first of all that I LOVE this song. It's super creepy, and I love that about it. I also heard it for the first time after watching an amazingly suspenseful movie called, "Stay Alive," so hearing a song about the same thing afterwards made it that much more creepy. Anyway, as I've already implied, jinxlinden has definitely got it. Normally, I give a line by line analysis of songs, but this one speaks for itself. |

I would like to thank the person who posted these lyrics. Also, I would like everyone to ignore my previous post on here; this is, in fact, the original version. I looked it up today, and I absolutely love it. I've gotten a couple ETF demos today as well, and it feels like I'm falling in love with them all over again. Seriously, if you don't have the demos, go look them up on Youtube and download them from one of those youtube to mp3 sites. |

This has nothing to do with the song. Why did you waste your time posting how the "new Escape the Fate" sucks? Seriously, get a friend or two. If anyone thinks ETF sucks now, then they already know that; I doubt they need someone else to inform them. Personally, I think Craig's voice is beautiful, and his screaming is even better. I'll admit, they were better with Ronnie (and Omar, everyone always forgets about him), but they are still a great band, and if you disagree, find something better to do than try to put down Craig. Honestly, let's see you live like him and be able to deal with it: everyone and their mothers bashing you every second of the day, people attending shows just to tell you how much you suck, and people thinking the songs you perform are the songs someone else wrote.
I'm not saying I don't like Ronnie. I love Ronnie. His voice has always been amazing, and I'm just sorry I didn't know Escape the Fate when they had Ronnie. His voice is amazing as well, and I can't wait for him to start performing with Falling in Reverse.
Basically, act as if Escape the Fate then and Escape the Fate now are two different bands: like how they were before, like how they are now, or like both eras. Don't go around saying how much Craig sucks because he is a person, too. |

maybe it's just because the vocals are so similar, but everytime i hear the chorus of this song, i get this image in my head of flying over the ocean, which reminds me of the line in Escape the Fate's "There's No Sympathy for the Dead" where they say, "A hundred thousand wings soaring through the sky at insane speeds we can't catch with our eyes." I'm not sure if there actually IS a connection between these guys and ETF, but I've heard over and over again (and experienced this myself as well) that this band is so much like Escape the Fate.
I think this song has to do with those times in your life when you know you need to change: "The castle walls are burning down. We gotta find our way out."
"I can see for miles over the ocean." - He can see what will happen if he doesn't change.
"So fire at will. Give me one last chance to make it through." - He wants to show someone, maybe an ex or even just friends or family, that he can and will change.
That's my take. Regardless of the meaning, this song is very deep, and I absolutely adore it. |

"The things you've said and now your dead."
"your dead" what? dead cat? (grammar.)
this song is most definitely about ronnie getting kicked out of ETF and how it's not his fault:
"Listen up 'cause this is not the end,
You're the last thing that crossed my mind."
-he's saying people haven't heard the last of him, especially ETF.
"Now it's time for me to go,
I know, you know, the fights are getting old."
-self explanitory, ronnie knows it was time to leave anyway 'cause of all the fighting
"You say you will never change,
I say that's too bad.
I'm sorry for all the things that you and I (Could have had)
But it's your fault for all the stupid things,
That you and I have done and said."
-ETF was probably trying to get him to change (i'm guessing here) and he knows he won't. also, he's poiting out they could have had something greater, and it's not his fault they didn't get the chance |

i agree. that part isn't sad as much as it is powerful. i got this album at the most perfect time, for it pulled me out of the hole i was falling into, especially that line. i dont think i have found a more powerful quote anywhere. |
