| Dave wrote this song as a tribute to the 'Troops in Iraq'. The relief they must feel when the plane touches ground on home soil must be exhilarating. But because this war is seemingly never-ending the troops are home for a week at best sometimes then are sent back for another tour which is where the "Here's another round for you" line comes from. I think it's an excellent song even if it isn't what some people see as traditional Foo Fighters. He explained this song when he played it for President Obama at his "backyard" victory barbecue. | |

I come up with: -- It's been such a long time coming, I thought you'd understand. I'm so far ahead of the lines you'll be joining in the sand. 'Cause it's simple, You were wrong. You must have known that we did not belong. I know you thought I'd sold my soul, But never told me to my face. I just had to leave you, go, To blow this shit away! -- Suggestions? Add-ons? Changes? This song is defs about them breaking away from the Drum&Bass pack mentality and showing critics that they're more than just the stock standard of the genre. |
