sorry. one more thing. propaghandii: love the band but i seem to disagree with a part of your argument. the lyric : "death will give us back to God" is a sarcastic comment. Conor obviously doesnt believe in Christianity or a said God but actually critizes christianity in many of his other songs. sorry to all you Jesus-lovers. but he dsnt. thats why he makes the father loading the gun (the hypocrite) say it so that you understand he is sarcastic. another example of hypocrisy of christians is the line from another song (dont know which song) but he writes, "my parents have their religion but sleep in different houses." so they got divorced but apparently christianity is still the "best" religion out there (sarcastic comment again if u didnt notice) you have to look under the suggested meanings to understand what Conor intends. Hes a genius and geniuses would never make anything, especially song lyrics, that simple. but thats what i think. u think what you wanna think. ur opinion. no hostility intended. thats why individual minds are so amazing. you can think whatever you want!!! |

agreed. I never thought of any of what you just said, but it makes the most sense i wonder if Conor has read any Niezthche (i think i spelled it right)...because Niezthche's core thought was to live life without the fear of hell. or wasting your whole life just thinking about whats going to happen after life. a huge waste of time. dont get me wrong, ive spent many hours thinking about it too. but in the end, it hasnt helped me much. another ideology of Conor's is the realization that were nothing but random elements placed in the right order. as in, humanity isnt the center of the universe, as we like to think. I just wish I had the genius he has...but ive thought before, he seems very depressed a lot. ive began to think more and more that more knowledge leads to more dispair and that ignorance truly is bliss. any high school football jocks can comment on this. tell me what you guys think...or dont think sorry guys...you had it coming to you |

you know, I agree with most of your opinions...but the anarchist belief stuck out at me. I don't think he is mentioning cliches because the next line after "And in the ear of every anarchist who sleeps but doesn't dream", is "we must sing, we must sing, we must sing" I believe he is telling the anarchist to not worry about the government, and to allow the politicians to play their games. just live your own life. he is telling the preacher to not worry about death and afterlife, especially of other people not concerning the preacher. just live life. thats my opinion anyway...doesnt really matter much, just a suggestion. but as Conor himself puts it, "I am really no one" |
