this song scares me. i try to avoid listening to it but i can't resist its mysterious pull. the way that first guitar riff is played is so addictive. i feel like the band is trying to take over my mind or something. then the super vocoded vocals kick in. i'm sure there's more going on than what's printed here for the lyrics. and after i listen to the song my first instinct is to take a long cold shower to wash away all that filth and grime. and for the record, i haven't anything stronger than a cup of tea today. |

it's an absolutely cheesy song, there is no doubt about that. but when they played it at Atomic Ballroom last night with a packed venue and the energy of everyone dancing and having a great time, at that very moment, it was the best song in the world. you can't dance and stay uptight indeed. |

damn, only two and now three comments about the most amazing AW song. it's definitely about obsession and how it tends to overwhelm.
one of my favorite concert going experiences was the Afghan Whigs opening for Teenage Fanclub at the Back Door on the SDSU campus back in either '02 or '03. they play this song and during the bridge, Greg breaks out this sultry version of the Divinyl's "I Touch Myself". damn i wish i had a recording of it. |
