I think on the surface this song is about someone who is being dumped ("crept on my sleeping"), but the line "Motionless remains the mess/Shame, such a beautiful, beautiful young life" makes me think the person is being "left" by a loved one committing suicide. "I didn't get the chance, damn you" refers to the anger that remains after someone kills them self. |

I just finished doing a ballet with the members of the band so I can tell you exactly what this song is about...
Darius was in Vegas and he saw this girl "float down the stairs"; she had beautiful green eyes, straight brown hair, & her name was Dorrinda I think. They had a very passionate 6-month relationship, but they couldn't manage to make it work b/c he was always on the road.
Incidentally my roomate played that part & we called her "Dirty Dorrinda". :) |

I just finished doing a ballet with the members of the band & they told us that this song was written after 9/11 and one of its main influence was seeing the people jumping from the buildings. So the song is very much about dying on your terms as well. |
