I think that Marina is using the decision that the character of Mowgli in 'The Jungle Book' makes, as a metaphor for important choices in real life. The song is just like Mowgli's choice or 'fork in the road' at the end of the book when he has to choose between the life he knows in the jungle 'the unforsaken road' and joining human society. 'King of the Jungle' is an obvious reference to 'The Jungle Book' and the cutlery/spoons etc. could be symbolic for the choosing to live with humans again because they are strictly human tools. Maybe??? Love the song whatever it's about though! |

i think this is about sex and revenge - fintimes! but i don't think 'get your filthy fingers out of my pie' is a euphamism(?) its like the saying 'he/she has his/her fingers in many pies' as in lots of enterprises/projects'oppurtunities going on at once so its basically the guy (who i think this song is from the perspective of)telling this girl to butt out of his life because her effect is destroying his apathetic ways, hence all the revenge 'i'll cut your little heart out cos you made me cry'!!! |

at first i thought this track sounded like a space aged timbaland but only the lovely matt bellamy could write 'you may be a sinner, but your innocence is mine' this really reminds me of the sort of running theme throughout origin of symmetry destruction of innocence and evil undone by love etc. love it ;) |

I'm pretty sure 'falling away with you' isn't about the end of a relationship hence the lyrics "i'll love whatever you become" and "i think our lives have just begun" etc. and what gave you the impression 'Hysteria' is about a hooker, you could be right, but i just don't see it... Nevertheless Starlight is one of my favourite songs ever, it's epic and catchy and painfully beautiful I am in love with it |

it definately goes "but nihilism's for boys" not entirely sure how to interpret it though. Maybe only men can contemplate the idea that ther might be NOTHING else, and women will always be in favour of the great SOMETHING, although i can't decide whether i agree (very INdecisive today) nevertheless, another amazing emmy song, lyrically one of her most brilliant i think especially the "i am single cell matter/and you are the sea/but i've hit evolution/finally" and until i heard thins i didn't think 'evolution' was a pretty word, or poetic concept, but now i'm sold. |
