this was the first song that he wrote and I am pretty sure xMonica is right, but I personally hear the song I think about change. Wanting to get away "get on that fucking train and leave today" and it doesn't matter where you go you just want something different. Being a senior in high school I can really relate to this because I just want to get out of here. So while xMonica is right on what it means to Mikel and what he was trying to convey but on a personal level to me it means just getting away from routine, trying to start something new in your life. |

in an interview I saw on youtube Mikel says that when he asked Anna to be in the band he was very drunk and she probably thought he was hitting on her. While its probably not what the song is about, when I hear Anna's vocals on this song I can't help but think that this is probably how their conversation went. Especially this part: "You're no good, You're like the junkies in this neighbourhood." Just a thought. Cant wait to see these guys on Kimmel tonight. They are without a doubt my favorite band ever. |
