Manic Street Preachers – Facing Page: Top Left Lyrics 16 years ago
The only thing I can gleam from it is the "beauty dipping neophobia". Neophobia=fear of change. Maybe he's discussing one who is so obsessed with their own beauty they fear change...i dunno.

Manic Street Preachers – Doors Closing Slowly Lyrics 16 years ago
I think it's much more of a critique of the hypocrisy in religion, esp. the religious right. A gathering of no meaning=church service? The shadow is a cross okay=the dark/evil acts people do in the name of Christianity. I noticed though that he didn't say the cross is a shadow okay, implying that all Christianity is evil, instead the other way round. Judgment must be willing today=people who judge based on religion.

Other than that the rest is pretty self-explanatory. Listen to the selfish ones
They are the voice of accomplishment is a critique of capitalism i think...

Could JD also be JD Salinger?

Manic Street Preachers – She Bathed Herself in A Bath of Bleach Lyrics 16 years ago
I think it's about a failed relationship without any romance on his half, and the girl keeps herself in it because she still loves him. Also possibly domestic violence..

And maybe, if as Yer Ma says, it's about someone he knew at mental hospital, it's someone who was so domestically abused that she was driven to insanity? Love bathed her in a bath of bleach?

Manic Street Preachers – Peeled Apples Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree with whoever said that about peeled apples becoming brown, ultimately probably about the futility of life.

Certain lines stick out: "The figure 8 inside out is infinity"- always running in circles, like a figure eight. "The naked lightbulb is always wrong"- possibly an allusion to A Streetcar Named Desire where Blanche always covers up the lightbulb?

Any thoughts on riderless horses on Chomsky's Camelot? Something about Chomsky's critique of foreign policy...

Alright I love the song but have no fucking clue... possibly something how the strength of the family unit has disintegrated?

Manic Street Preachers – All Is Vanity Lyrics 16 years ago
Hm.

I think it's someone who ultimately rejects vanity and all that comes with it..."Haven't shaved for days, keeps the appearance of delay", and one who has so rejected vanity that he rejects choice as well. People wonder what is wrong with him for not choosing to enhance his appearance artificially, but he states that it's just the facts of life.
