Eskimo Joe – Comfort You Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think this song is about the lack of any "Greater Being" and how the singer is telling their friend that they'll be there for them. Even if no-one else would be. Trying to put "God" as the meaning of a song with 9 words is like me interpreting the colour of someones curtians to be the outwards expression of my friends inner depression, because they're too afraid to speak up for fear of mocking. It just doesn't make sense. |

Mumford & Sons – White Blank Page Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Can you lie next to her And give her your heart, your heart As well as your body And can you lie next to her And confess your love, your love As well as your folly And can you kneel before the king And say I'm clean, I'm clean Chorus: But tell me now, where was my fault In loving you with my whole heart Oh tell me now, where was my fault In loving you with my whole heart A white blank page and a swelling rage, rage You did not think when you sent me to the brink, the brink You desired my attention but denied my affections, my affections Chorus Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life |
Nickelback – Far Away Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i know this is a little late, but to any other people that are wondering the same thing... One of the firefighters is her boyfriend, and being a firefighter is really dangerous, she is worried he is going to die, and when she gets a call she thinks he has died, not really hard to work out |
TestAmenT – Seven Days Of May Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Put your life on the line To hesitate is a waste of time No giving in to repent Unto the system of the government It's called the People's Republic here The propaganda so sincere Oh, what a joke and a blatant lie From criminals ranking high Born a political prisoner Raised outside of the law I'm gonna keep on fighting Until I die for the cause Put an end to hypocrisy Lead the way to democracy No longer will be play the fool To brutalized military rule They started forty years ago We never could say yes or no Million souls make our voice We want the right to make a choice Born a political prisoner Raised outside of the law I'm gonna keep on fighting Until I die for the cause Freedom, freedom calling Out from the pain Freedom, freedom falling Seven days of may They tried to show a peaceful path But then it turned into a blood bath When in the square they plan the game That's when the tanks of the army came They called the murders minimal Described their victims as criminals Dead souls like you and me Who only wanted free society Born a political prisoner Raised outside of the law I'm gonna keep on fighting Until I die for the cause Freedom, freedom calling Out from the pain Freedom, freedom falling Seven days of may |

System of a Down – Toxicity Lyrics | 14 years ago |
yes, you have an illicit drug maybe not, but you have used drugs, hell, you've probably used them in church (Wine, alcohol is a drug) and personally (this is my opinion, not 'the truth') i believe that Jesus wasn't perfect, that he was simply a normal man like me or you (more me then you) and that is what makes him such a powerful figure in history, he may not have turned water to wine, or bread to fish or whatever he did, i think he was more of a 'robin hood' person who took (brought) from the rich (merchants) and gave to the poor. he may have been a herbalist as well, he saved lives, and although the bible says through the power of god, i believe poultices and potions from mixed herbs may have worked the same miracles, they do now. anyways, thats my 2c |
Atreyu – No One Cares Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i really like your take on it... i think your right too... i've asked a few of my mates what they think some Atreyu songs are about and they say 'who cares, sounds awsome tho!' If things keep going this way, Songmeanings will be pointless because songs will all become mindless and about nothing |

Cage the Elephant – Ain't No Rest For The Wicked Lyrics | 14 years ago |
just a little patch up, laurentheinvincible got a few words wrong xD And it's a hella good song, kinda self-explanatory. I was walking down the street, When out the corner of my eye I saw a pretty little thing approaching me. She said "I've never seen a man Who looks so all alone, Could you use a little company? If you pay the right price Your evening will be nice, And you can go and send me on my way." I said "You're such a sweet young thing Why you do this to yourself?" She looked at me and this is what she said, "Oh, there ain't no rest for the wicked, Money don't grow on trees. I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed, There ain't nothing in this world for free. I know I can't slow down, I can't hold back, Though you know, I wish I could. Oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked, Until we close our eyes for good". Not even fifteen minutes later I'm still walking down the street, When I saw a shadow of a man creep out of sight. Then he walks up from behind He put a gun up to my head, He made it clear he wasn't looking for a fight. He said "Give me all you've got I want your money not your life, But if you try to make a move I won't think twice." I told him "You can have my cash But first you know I got to ask What makes you want to live this kind of life?" He said "There ain't no rest for the wicked, Money don't grow on trees. I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed, There ain't nothing in this world for free. I know I can't slow down, I can't hold back, Though you know, I wish I could. Oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked, Until we close our eyes for good". (yea) Now a couple hours passed And I was sitting at my house, The day was winding down and coming to an end. So I turned on the TV And flipped it over to the news, And what I saw I almost couldn't comprehend. I saw a preacher man in cuffs he'd taken money from the church, He's got this bank account with righteous dollar bills. But even still I can't say much Because I know we're all the same, Oh yes we've all got to satisfy those thrills. "Oh, there ain't no rest for the wicked, Money don't grow on trees. We got bills to pay, We got mouths to feed, There ain't nothing in this world for free. I know we can't slow down, We can't hold back, Though you know, we wish we could. Oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked, Until we close our eyes for good". |
Pillar – Frontline Lyrics | 14 years ago |
he's right, you got Pwnt and your 'religious' belief is obviously wrong, let me guess, you heard about Atheism from a mate who heard it from their uncle jerry, and he picked it up in a bar in texas? if your atheist there is no 'GOD' for you to despise GTFO the bandwagon and make your own decisions |
Muse – Thoughts of a Dying Atheist Lyrics | 14 years ago |
wow... i've noticed so far everyone is talking about either Atheism or Christianity, There are other ones out there anyways, on to my actual message from my personal perspective being an atheist is anti-conforming, But an anti-conformist is conforming to be anti-conformist. what i mean, is being an atheist is a religion in itself. Personally i believe in (Hope for) Reincarnation |

Atreyu – Bleeding Hearts Shed No Tears Lyrics | 15 years ago |
After all that has transpired After all that has taken place After all the stab wounds And just before my death Rise phoenix like anew From the still burning ashes of false hearts lies To fly once again To shine from within Dismember myself Sever my veins Poison myself A heartless joke Slash at my neck Gouge out my eyes Screaming in agony You pacify me Bleeding hearts shed no tears Bleeding hearts shed no tears Soaked all the way through With remorse and regret Fire to purify my soul And blood to replenish it Search in hopes of completion To justify my love for you Nothing ever ends Where our souls begin Nothing can save Me from myself You keep me safe Resurrecting my love An angel like you Can never fall Heaven I found Right in my arms Bleeding hearts shed no tears Bleeding hearts shed no tears I Found Love in You I find truth in you I see light in you And it horrifies me After all that has transpired After all that has taken place After all the stab wounds And just before my death Rise phoenix like anew From the still burning ashes of false hearts lies To fly once again To shine from within Dismember myself Sever thy veins Poison myself A heartless joke Slash at my neck Gouge out my eyes Screaming in agony You pacify me Bleeding hearts shed no tears Bleeding hearts shed no tears Bleeding hearts shed no tears Bleeding hearts shed no tears |
