| there was an interview i saw about "annie use your telescope" .. and he was like "well, i think it's pretty obvious .. the song is about my wife" .. but i really don't know why he calls her by "annie" and not "kelly" .. maybe its like her middle name or a nickname or something .. i really don't know .. so maybe the phone call part is about his wife? | |

i think the konstantine theory actually makes a lot of sense. "i still hear you in this old piano." - if he wrote hammers & strings on his old something corporate piano .. that's definitely the same piano he wrote konstantine on (because he wrote that so long ago and the black upright was his first piano). and like i said in reply to another person's comment .. he probably CAN'T tell his fans its about the same girl as konstantine because he's married and it wouldn't be right .. and i'm sure he loves his wife and everything but no one forgets the first person you fall in love with (especially in this case where he wrote music about her). just my thoughts. |

i have also heard that it's about his piano - at least that's what he said at the JM concert i went to but i was thinking .. if it WAS about a girl - he probably couldn't really admit it or say that to his fans because he's married and it wouldn't be right .. i mean, i am sure he loves his wife but you never really forget the first person you were in love with (girl he wrote konstantine for??) .. i don't really know for sure it's just thought that maybe he can't talk about what the REAL meaning is .. |

| sorry this is a little late .. but i actually thought the SAME thing the first few times i heard the song .. it certainly seems like he's talking about an ex .. and how he still thinks about he when he plays piano .. but he was married when he wrote the song?? and at the jack's concert i went to - he said the song was about the piano(s) he toured with during the soco days .. but it seems to me that the "girl" is an important part of the song .. hmm | |
