| this whole album -- you are literally listening to a man go through the grieving process after dealing with just about the most painful thing a person can go though. At first I thought "I can't listen to this its too much" But then realized that if a person is going to share this much of his pain...well he deserves for me to listen. Actually its not about his daughter having cancer since Craig Minowa never had a daughter (or not yet, his wife is pregnant at the moment I don't know if its a boy or girl?). He had a son, Kaidin, who tragically died at 2 years old in 2002. This song is most likely about the fact that he and his wife separated for a time in their grief over the loss of Kaidin, and then reunited and got back together. Absolutely beautiful song. Saw it live and I was just blown away. One of the many cloud cult songs I can listen to over and over and still feel the emotion in his voice. |
