This is so wonderful. The song sounds sad, but it isn't at all! I take it as so hopeful. "Cars and trees go by me, you are in the yard and in my arms again" She knows that love is waiting for her, and she's perfectly content with it; she's not worried if her lover won't be there waiting for her because their love is real. I love the repetitiveness of "Oh happy, oh happy, the end" Just perfect. |

the song reminds me of being stuck in some sort of rut. like, things are stagnant and still. nothing is progressing. and if so, things are progressing in such a way that he didn't intend or want them to go. when i hear "please don't let me down this time/i've come a long way just to fall into line" it's almost as if he's talking to himself. like, "please don't make that mistake again. i'm sick of having to start all over again." perhaps that is just because i can relate? :) beautiful song, by the way. his performance of it on La Blogotheque is absolutely breathtaking! |
