i think it's about desiring a consummate kind of love. "Walking alone tonight ‘Cause I’ve only got room for two Me and my burdened black heart It’s all we know how to do" pretty much the first verse tells of being alone "Yet I look for a bigger bang Than the kind I continually see" "Yet I look for a bigger bang Than the kind I’m sorry to know." i like how he used the word bang. i guess it's talking about...how should i put it...a shallow kind of love. and he uses a contrast between conquering and sharing in the view. "Pulled by a false inertia Pushed out by circumstance Pistol firing at my feet That’s coercing me to dance" i believe this verse basically explains that circumstances hinder him from actually attaining the consummate love. i also like the imagery of the pistol and being forced to just go with it. pretty much the rest of the song tells of his desire and his actual intent in attaining it of course with the help of the 'lover.' "Here I am, first foot of the climb Watch me go." |
