"Ben Skeleton" stands for Ben Bones, the drummer of Jamie T's band and the one guy with whom Jamie actually does all the recording. The last verse seems to refer entirely to their approach to music and music industry. |

StepherssX summarized the main idea precisely, i guess, but i think there's more in the verses. Sounds like being about him touring after the 1st album (seven seas, matador, Wisconsin etc.), maybe hooking up with a girl while in some place or another, having to leave afterwards and never taking her with him to "Save from a man's machine". Could be totally off, but it kind of fits. |

The sniff just before the chorus and the verse "racking and stacking them lines" obviously refers to cocaine, which the singer probably doesn't appreciate ("calm down dearest"), since someone's trying to hide their problems behind drinking and drugs ("it's heavy, it's on the mind"). The verses are about a typical night out, sure enough. |

Looks like a song about someone who died of substance abuse, or at least a general lament about the heartlessness of modern London. Either way, an ace song, it's a wonder no one commented on it yet. |

| Jamie T – Jilly Armeen Lyrics
|
Obviously the lines about the pseudonym mean that he's never gonna write another song for girls that reject him (for "them") using the name "Jilly Armeen" instead of the real girls' names. Thus, this invented "Jilly Armeen" pseudonym is useless now, since he'd reached the decision not to write any more unrequited love songs.
No clue regarding the verses' meaning, though. |
