Yes, the song is about lucid dreaming, but you're all missing the main point: the song is being told from the point of view of a loved one who has passed on. The loved one is saying, "even though you can't see me anymore, I'm still here watching over you, and I will visit you in dreams and help you through the tough times" Our dead loved ones wants us to realize they are there in the dream with us always. The greater message is that there is no real death, only change, and the spiritual world encompasses the dream world, which is why the dead can more easily make contact with us there. |

Why are people always saying songs are about drug addiction? Sheesh. Get an imagination. Anyway, I think this song is about the death wish mentality of people who are drooling for the end of the world. Musical lyrics don't always directly express the point of view of the artist, despite what some clueless interpreters think. It's more subtle than that. I think the key to understanding the meaning of this song is vanity. The song is from the point of view of all the people people who are unhappy, miserable doomsayers who live empty meaningless lives so they put all their energy into selfishly hoping for some sort of apocalypse. Even in their wishing for an ultimate end, they are being vain and selfish. Watch the video with those religious figures and all those shallow people in it who are self-absorbed and take everything for granted. |

| The Flys – Got You (where I Want You) Lyrics

This song isn't intended as a sweet love song imo. It has a very cynical and sarcastic tone. It's about manipulation, basically. The person is pretending to not have any agenda, telling the other person "I'm not after anything in particular; I just am curious/want to know more about you" He pretends to be awkward and shy but it is only a pretense. The chorus is a triumphant howl, almost like a wolf "awoooooooooooo got you (where I want you!) As the song (relationship) goes on, it becomes more and more apparent the person did have an agenda, and was exploiting her ego by flattery. He did not have honorable intentions from the very beginning. His sweet words come back to haunt her once he's finished using her. |
