Foo Fighters – Tired Of You Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is interpreted really well by the movie "I Think I Love my Wife"
The movie isn't specifically about the song, but it's heard well over 5 times especially when the main character (played by Chris Rock) comes close to cheating on his wife for his friend's ex girlfriend he had a crush on. He could never bring himself to doing it even though the girl kept seducing him, but his morals kept bringing him back. I can't explain the relations in the movie to this real well, but I recommend seeing it, if not to understand then just for a good watch.

System of a Down – Highway Song Lyrics 16 years ago
you know the difference between a fan and a fanatic? you my friend are a fanatic. no one gives a shit about how long you've listened to a band, or what triv you know about them like the singer's mother's maiden name. We dont have to give a shit about that to listen to the music and understand its meaning to us.

Modest Mouse – Bukowski Lyrics 16 years ago
Anyway, to the song.
Modest Mouse, of course, is a great band. Some would say this song is a jab at God and religion, since Isaac Brock is an atheist. However, while that may be the message he is conveying, he also sends a more subtle message that many people do not pick up on. In my English course, if we were to analyze this like we were to analyze the Scarlet Letter or Jane Eyre, we would most likely decide that the person in the song (not necessarily Brock) made a few wrong turns in his life, with regards towards the Bukowski reference. Obviously something traumatized this character to the point where he just gave up and threw caution to the wind, so to speak. The character obviously hates God, but must believe in him up to a point, because he blames God for all of his misfortune (nine times out of ten bit) even though it was his life he made the choices in and he decided his own fate.

wow, just wow. belief wars are awesome. I hope atheists realize that by anti religious they are in fact going to just start fights in the world by telling people there is no god, no buddha, you just rot. Not saying I disagree (or agree for that matter) but not a real smart move, hating religion because of the hate it causes itself. And all the questioning why doesn't god cure cancer and all that shit, for you religious folks out there, respond "keepin the population in check." Usually shuts anyone questioning your beliefs right the hell up.
