I think this is kind of a jab to all of us who have ever scoffed at the idea of an almighty god, then with the same breath turn around and prayed.. to God.. And it's empty, of course, but the question is what's so wrong about trying? You can't believe and not believe, you can't choose to one minute laugh at a God existing, and then the next minute to pray to Him and hope that everything's gonna be all right. The other part of this song, mainly the chorus, I think is Regina poking fun at all of those that find religion so materialistic...all the bible thumpers, all the people that use God as an excuse for all the wrong reasons. I think...in total...this song could be like saying "don't become so hateful that you have no one left to turn to other than God because all you'll find is contempt." |
