also: "Locusts swarm from open mouths that sing 'Thy kingdom come'" 'thy kingdom come' is part of a prayer, I think, and the locusts could represent decay, meaning that the word of God is dishonest? (Or at least how the word of God is exploited is dishonest) it sort of goes with the theme of death that is present in this song. the belief that their lies an eternal utopia (Heaven) after death is a lie; there is simply the vastness of death (symbolized by the sea?) The lines "I feel the flowers screaming to consume you" and "Earth and sky your cradle, Earth and sky entomb you"- the flowers are people posing as good and distinguished while they truly are evil and malicious; their earth and sky brainwash one in his youth ("cradle") and thus kill him ("entomb") by depriving him of his individuality and freedom I dunno if what I said was shit. but lyrics can be ambiguous, right?? |
