| Black Sabbath – Seventh Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This album is actually the first solo album from Tony Iommi. It was not meant to be labeled as Black Sabbath, but the recording label forced Iommi to release it as: "Black Sabbath Featuring Tony Iommi". The Concept for this song (title song from the album) is about the torment of Saint Anthony from Egypt. Check it at Black-Sabbath.com site, Iommi was passing through really hard times back then, and that was reflected on the lyrics from the song, the sound of the album, and even the artwork from the album. |

| Black Sabbath – After Forever Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Ozzy did not write lyrics, Geezer wrote all of them, except this one. After Forever is Iommi's song (Music and Lyrics). On the cover art from Seventh Star you can find more Roman Catholic imagery, particularly referencing Saint Anthony. In this life, not everything is what it seems, Black Sabbath is not a satanic band, just a band doing songs dealing with horror and sci-fi themes. |

| Dio – Master of the Moon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think, I remember a video from an interview where RJD said something about some teenager dealing with his hormones, or something like that... Because of that, I initially thought the song was about homosexuality, but later I realized that I was wrong. The Moon is a metaphor for the Childhood. A Master of the Moon is a grown-up person, an Adult. This is about a child who is growing, and not listening to the adults. At the end, he grows up too, and says: "I'm master of the moon" (I finally grew up). You are 100% right on this one. This is another great song from RJD. |

| Dio – Egypt (The Chains Are On) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"the strange ones" are the fallen angels, check out the lyrics from don't talk to strangers. It was the fallen angels who actually built the pyramids, therefore the name: Egypt (the Chains are on). Meaning that mankind's suffering started there, on a far remote past. |

| Alternative 3 uncovered a plan to make the moon and Mars habitable in the event of climate change and a terminal environmental catastrophe on Earth. | |
| Heaven & Hell – Breaking into Heaven Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
There's more I can say to support the point about the Great Tribulation thing, but at the end all my comments come down to the same thing I said right from the start: "You need to know well what the Bible says in order to understand it". It would take me too long to explain the Theological Philosophy and Eschatology from Roman Catholicism, but I could close my comments about this particular song saying that Ronnie James Dio wrote the song. He may have any type of beliefs now a days, but as his family was from an Italian ancestry (was born Padavona, later changed the lastname to Dio, which by the way means God in Italian Language), you may expect him to be knowledgeable about the Bible, moreover given the mystical nature of the Band Black Sabbath (or Heaven and Hell). |

| Heaven & Hell – Breaking into Heaven Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"here the fallen angels lament being away from heaven, and being stuck on earth - with men!!!" Here there is a mistake, like I said at the start, it all comes from the Bible. The Demons (Fallen Angels) used to be Angels, Angels may have bodies, that is may be physical (if they want), like the Angels who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. The Fall from the Fallen Angels means two things: 1st. They are not in Heaven anymore, and not on Earth either (not exactly), but in Hell. 2nd. They do not have bodies anymore, they may not be physical. Because of those two limitations, when a Demon wants to get something done on Earth (on the Physical way), he needs to seduce a human, or possess a person first. That is what they mean when they say: "Chained and cursed to wander with man". That is why everything involves humans, it has always been like that, in fact the first sin from the Fallen Angels was hate for God's new creature: Adam. Now, the second issue is that there is an end times prophecy on the Book of Revelations that states that the Gates of Hell would be opened, and the Demons would be released once more for a short while leading to human temptation & sin, and finally the Great Tribulation. That Great Tribulation is what they mean when they say: "Get ready for War". You did not come off as arrogant, I will be glad to keep adding notes if you have further questions. |

| This song is about giving some very bad news to the World. | |
| Black Sabbath – Letters From Earth Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Black Sabbath: Letters From Earth (Alternate Lyrics from 12" Single Version). It's a cold world And I'm in the middle Caught in the in-between I don't belong here So I'm writing to you They never understand So I'm sending you some Letters from earth, yeah It's a new world And now I'm a stranger Stranger than you know I don't belong here And I'm writing to you With blood on my hands What if I send you madness What if I send you pain And letters from earth, ooh All right I see through the masquerade The secret faces The lie behind the smile They can make the water Taste just like the wine Come on it's another game And we gotta play on They say it's just pretend But did you ever ask them why The game is called the end I don't want your money, man I just want a part of you I can hear your voice of getting Seems to belong in my brain I don't want your pretty, no I just want the heart out of you Don't you think I said too much for now, hah Don't be afraid What if I send confusion What is the time and the pain worth Oh no no I'm only sending - Letters from the earth |

| Black Sabbath – Ear In The Wall Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I am aware that when RJD sings this song, or the song "The Eyes" with the Band DIO, he says the song is about a paranoid person. If RJD would not say that the character of the song is paranoid then people who understand the lyrics would think that RJD himself is a paranoid. I do not think RJD wants to be seen as a paranoid at all, and I perfectly understand why he says that on his interviews. The character from the song is the kind of person who reads about the so-called "Conspiracy Theories" that populate today's internet. From the text of the song there is absolutely no indication about the person being wrong, just having problems making others believe what he/she already does. Seeing things other people can't see does not necessarily make you crazy. |

| Heaven & Hell – Follow the Tears Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"I sing, but I can't make a song" This is a figure that Ronnie James Dio uses often on his songs. Song: means an idea that, right or wrong, sounds well, and people sometimes believe in, and support. For example Socialism could be a "song", but that was just an example, the song is not about Socialism. "I sing, but I can't make a song" means: "I know what is right/true, but nobody would believe me (or accept it)". The idea behind this song is similar to that one from the song "Letters from Earth" from the Album Dehumanizer. Remember the same song has alternate lyrics from the 12" single version too. So, someone wants to say something that he/she strongly believes to be true, but admits that is way to hard to accept or believe. Like the guy on "Letters from Earth", this one is carrying very bad news too, or perhaps is just very pessimistic. "So if you want o know where I've been Hiding all these years Follow the tears" This song is about the "Search for the Truth". If you really want to know where the Truth has been hiding all these years, then follow the Tears. Ask those who are suffering, they'll tell you. Why? Because the World is a terrible place, and whoever is enjoying it must be living on a dream, unaware of the reality surrounding him/her. |

| Heaven & Hell – Breaking into Heaven Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Wrong. The Bible describes the past, the present, and the future of that rebellion. Like I said before, you need to know well what the Bible says about it. Here is when the then-angels fell into sin/hell: "High above the world we had it all, so no one seemed to care when evil came to call and soon we knew temptation and we sinned, then he closed the door, we can't come back again" Here is when us (the humans, not the angels) will fall into sin/hell: "Now we're back again we want it all, and no one seems to know that evil's come to call and we will bring temptation and you'll sin, then we'll slam the door, you can't come back again" Ask if it is still not clear. |

| Black Sabbath – Country Girl Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I guess you have got it right. With the Band DIO Ronnie also wrote: "Don't dream of women, 'Cause they only take you down!" on the song: "Don't talk to strangers". It really fooled me for a long time I actually thought the song was a romantic tale about a real girl from the country side... |

| Dio – Don't Talk To Strangers Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"Don't talk to strangers Mmmmh" #Don't contact demons# "Don't talk to strangers 'Cause they're only there to do you harm Don't write in starlight 'Cause the words may come out real" #Automatic Writing, a Channeling (Mediumistic) Technique.# "Don't hide in doorways You may find the key that opens up your soul Don't go to heaven 'Cause it's really only hell" #Transcendental Meditation (like the one in Buddhism)# "Don't smell the flowers They're an evil drug to make you lose your mind Don't dream of women 'Cause they only bring you down" #Drug-Induced Shamanic-like Trance States of the mind where Astral Projection is induced, on that World always "women" appear to take advantage of you. This has nothing to do with the women from the "Real World"# "Hey you, you know me, you've touched me, I'm real I'm forever the one that lets you look and see and Feel me I'm danger - I'm the stranger" #There you have it on your Astral Projection Experience; the one you met and had sex with, the one who said is your "Guru", that one is Danger, that one is a Demon# "And I, I'm darkness, I'm anger, I'm pain I am master The evil song you sing inside your brain Drive you insane Don't talk" #After you fall into their control then you'd see what they really are, the Evil Ideas that you believe now and repeat inside your mind to the point of obsession are already driving you crazy# "Don't let them inside your mind, yeah Run away, run away, go! No - no Don't let them in your mind Protect your soul" #This lines do not need interpretation, they are not a metaphor# "Don't dance in darkness You may stumble and you're sure to fall Don't write in starlight 'Cause the words may come out real" #Avoid the Occult# "Don't talk to strangers [Don't talk to strangers] 'Cause they're only there to make you sad Don't dream of women 'Cause they'll only bring you down Yeah Run, run, run, run away! " I hope this interpretation help anyone who has been or is being possessed. |

| Heaven & Hell – Bible Black Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
There are drugs here: "Let me go I've found addiction and it makes me feel alive Take me back I must have the Bible Black!" But this may be rather a reference to the shamanic use of drugs. Remember Jim Morrison on the Film: "The Doors", well that kind of thing. "Let me go I've seen religion But the light has left me blind Take me back I must have the Bible Black!" There is no connection to drugs on this verse at all, on the contrary is about Religion. The person from this song wants to try "the Dark Side". |

| Dio – Dream Evil Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is about Sleep Paralysis, and demonic attacks during the sleep (such attacks are sometimes portrayed as Alien Abductions). Just look at the cover of the Album, there is a demon sitting on the stomach of the person sleeping. That is a deep topic, and I am glad that someone wrote about it. | |
| Black Sabbath – Ear In The Wall Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Stargazer31 got it right. Maybe you need to travel to London to realize that the"Ear in the Wall" are hidden microphones, sometimes incorporated into the surveillance cameras ("The Eyes", from ""Master of the Moon DIO's Album). "It's next to the eye in the wall". |
|
| Black Sabbath – Shadow of the Wind Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is about drug addiction, the shadow of the wind is literally "smoke". "And the first one's always free". Could it be more clear? It has every step from Drug Addiction line after line, even the suffering from the man and his family: "Every day is an inquisition Who are you? What are you? Why? I'm alive, I belong, I'll be back It's a half truth, still a whole lie". This is a wonderful song, RJD is a genius song-writer. |

| Heaven & Hell – Fear Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I remember an Occult Rosicrucian Book that I read once. It spoke about the value of the fire, and how primitive cavemen men were afraid of the night until the fire came. The Book said after the fire came the nights were not the same, and men could think because they were not slaves of fear anymore, giving a big start to civilizations. There are also references about the fire and a god from the Greek mythology who stole the fire from the gods in order to give it to humans, this song is using this Occult notion, and a metaphor: Satan's "daughter = energy" in order to represent that despite all the technological progress our civilization has had over the centuries, we are not afraid anymore from the same things (for example; wild animals), but we are afraid instead of a Thermonuclear War World III, or a Chernobyl-like Disaster, or stuff that can only come out of the Technological development. This song comes right after "Atom and Evil", and I think that supports this view. In the past RJD has written songs like "Children of the Sea" where he strongly criticized the Industrial Revolution: "We made the demon dance, we threw away the key and locked the door". "Computer God", is another example of how skeptic can RJD be about Technology. |

| Heaven & Hell – Double the Pain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It's Euthanasia, read this: "He's strong he will survive It will make him come alive I'm sure I saw him smile Let's kick him for awhile". Remember that Ronnie James Dio knows what is to be in comma, he was on that state for weeks when that car accident happened. Remember that is was after that when he changed his lastname from Padavona to Dio. Check that out at "the Early Years" page. |

| Heaven & Hell – Breaking into Heaven Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is the War between God and Lucifer, it is word by word what the Bible says, you need to know it in order to understand it. | |
| Heaven & Hell – The Turn of the Screw Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is a Political Song, in a similar fashion like "Mob Rules", or "We Rock". This time Ronnie James Dio sends out a hidden Warning about Technocracy, the new political-economic system that is trying to take over the entire World. This represents the introduction of an "Energy Standard" for the Global Economy, the Symbol such organization uses is the ying-yang, and that is the reason why RJD described it as "the turn of the screw". | |
| Heaven & Hell – Rock and Roll Angel Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| On the same way that Ronnie James Dio criticized Christian TV Evangelism on the song "TV Crimes" from Dehumanizer Album (Black Sabbath), now he criticizes the New Age Religions. Notice that the so-called "Rock and Roll Angel" is also described as a "Stranger in the Dark", which has an evil connotation on more Lyrics written by Ronnie James Dio (for example: "Don't talk to Strangers"). | |
| Heaven & Hell – Bible Black Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is about a depressed Christian who gets involved on several features from the Occult and Satanism, losing his Soul at the end of the song. This lyrics and concept resemble the one from "Too Late" (Dehumanizer Album, Black Sabbath). | |
| Heaven & Hell – Atom & Evil Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The Fear of a Thermonuclear War World III, or a Chernobyl-like Nuclear Disaster on a today's World, when the Oil depending economies are starting to collapse. | |
| Heaven & Hell – Double the Pain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is about Euthanasia, or life-agony duration prolonged by artificial life-support means. | |
