I haven't actually heard this song so am not about to give an interpretation... But on this 'forum', who is? I used to be totally against abortion and had the same opinion as many of you, that abortion is murder. But my opinion changed completely when i came to understand the other side of the story - what about girls who have been raped? Assaulted? Should they have to bear the consequences of such wrong acts? They never chose to fall pregnant. There is even people who have safe sex - responsible use of contraception who fall pregnant unintentionally and chose to have an abortion or else they will bring shame to their families. This can come within cultural and religious circles. Wouldn't it be worse to go through with an unplanned pregnancy and raise a child when you are in a stage of life where you can't afford it? That would deprive the child of a proper up-bringing, and in some extreme cases, it would be more humane to have saved the child of that hardship via abortion. And with that, i think we should not put such prejudice on the act of abortion. It makes people who have HAD to do it feel that they can't talk to anyone. |

Here's my interpretation of this song: "If only you could see The stranger next to me You promised you promised that you're done But I can't tell you from the drugs I wish you could see This face in front of me You'r sorry swear it you're done But I can't tell you from the drugs" I think someone is dealing with schizophrenia (or however it's spelt). He's frustrated that the real people can't see this person that he can see, but the person he is imagining is so real to him. And he's confused because he can't tell the imaginary person apart from the real people because of the drugs, or maybe he thinks that the real people are in his head because of the drugs? |
