Few gripes with the lyrics (we can muscle this in sex?, sounds more like "We've got muscle to transect", even though that makes little sense seeing as transect isn't a medical term) Here's two interpretations of my own: The first (and less likely) interpretation is someone volunteering to be cut up (and eaten if you take the film clip literally). The opening two verses seem to adhere to this literal translation pretty well: "... I don't need anymore (convincing), (I) can go... Don't need more anesthetic... and no more laughing gas, just sterilize the scalpel and let's get this over with..." The verse where she "comes to..." is her unexpectedly waking up during the dissection and panicking, but she "lies back under the knife" to start over again. The second (and more likely) interpretation is a clear metaphor for sex with a virgin. Jenny wants the man to give her a "clean break" of her hymen, and doesn't want to wait anymore, causing her to "ache" and "keeping" her back from her "rush". The first verse is pretty self explanatory "I don't need any more (convincing), (I) can go, don't bother with the table we can do it on the floor, God knows I am sure!" She seems very eager at first and keen on the whole idea. The second verse continues on as she's more and more intent on sleeping with this guy: "Don't need more anesthetic (alcohol), oh and no more laughing gas (either jokes or pot, whatever tickles your fancy), just sterilize the scalpel (put on a condom) and let's get this over with! (get it on!)" She falls to sleep next to this guy and is awoken to him trying to have sex with her again, "creeping in her skin," but she submits and "lies back under the knife to start over again." Whichever tickles your fancy, but I like metaphors and all that rubbish, personally. |
