Okay...Surprised I'm the first to comment but here it goes. I'm gonna keep it simple. Will think about this more deeply later but... To me his hunchback is some time of emotional weight that he is carrying and he release's when he needs to or wants too. "Oh I've got a hangover make you just wanna keel over You don't gotta stick a four-leaf clover in your pants you got no chance" To me he is basically saying he is in a lot of emotional pain and he is going to release his insecurities onto his victim and there is nothing that his victim can do stop his "hunchback". |

Ok, here it goes, don't hate, just my perspective :) To understand my point of view, let me paint a picture in your mind... Think of your father, mother, or any of the role models who have greatly influenced you in life and the values that they have placed on to you in order to help form/shape who you are as being. Now read the first part: Life is bigger It's bigger And you, you are not me The lengths that I will go to The distance in your eyes Oh no, I've said too much I set it up To me, on this 1st part, he is battling against the moral foundation that has helped form his being and who he is as a person. He is battling against the voices of his ancestors as he is distancing him self from them and realizing that life is bigger than the foundation that he has been taught. When he says he had said to much and set it up he is referring to "going to far" as in straying away from the "core" structure of the path of his fathers. That's me in the corner That's me in the spotlight Losing my religion Trying to keep up with you And I don't know if I can do it Oh no I've said too much I haven't said enough Okay, 2nd part. Here he says he is in the "corner" and in the "spotlight". By this he means he has been cornered and is now in the "spotlight" of society in the sense that his decisions and his steps are now of huge importance to the world. He is now "stepping away" from the foundation while at the same exact time trying to stay within it. "Keep up with you". And he is not sure if he can stay within the moral framework of his ancestors, whilst also at the same time, pave the path for others. I thought that I heard you laughing I thought that I heard you sing I think I thought I saw you try The term "I think" and "I think I thought" simply implies that he "thinks" and "hopes" that his current songs, his current jokes, his current efforts, are not in vain in the eyes of his ascendants. Trying to make sure that his confessions and his actions are not blasphemed toward his predecessors. 'trying to keep an eye on you like a hurt lost and blinded fool' is simply saying he feels lost and blind and is not sure if he is making the right move or not. What is the point of me being here if I keep defiling the name of my ancestors? Oh no, no, don't think that way, that was just a dream, I am not spoiling your name.... | Cmon think a lil deeper than that digger. Of course what you said is also true. Think about it more though. "I wonder what they do in there" "I guess I like it fine, so far". Jim was never able to fully commit to Pam. She lived on love street but Jim didn't. He didnt know how to give up his heart to her. The feeling never lasted and he kept being unfaithful. Like most guys Jim doesnt know how to really love a women. I mean there is that "feeling" when u first meet and in the early stages of the relationship but it doesnt last. After that its about staying together because u know u can both be compatible and have a good family. And alot of times your wrong and thats how divorces happen but I wont get into that. Some Women live in this fantasy land hence "Love Street" where they think that sudden love feeling is going to last forever but it doesnt and Jim knows that and he cant commit himself and REALLY love her/commit/be compatable with her. Its the sad truth and its an awesome song! | |

| I agree with Lili09 because I do the same thing. I have plenty of friends and all but come night all my stress packs up in my mind so i smoke weed to releive the pain and become a "lonely stoner" and free myself at night. I can relate to this song easily. And i dont agree with soox saying that jus because he makes a drug reference once doesnt mean its about drugs. Soox is right in many cases but not in this case with this artist. If you listen to Kid Cudi's other songs he has full songs jus dedicated to weed. And talks about it in almost every song. He's a stoner. Plain n simple. And thats fine because he is making dope music stoned off his ass probably. | |

| This is kind of different and not as deep as the others but to me this song seems to be about a lonely man whom to fill his loneliness has sex with many women but never really loves anyone and I think the Birds whom he shares the lonely view with are the women and in his verses he talks about the different women. | |
