Avenged Sevenfold – A Little Piece of Heaven Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is creepy as fuck, but I sort of love it now. I think the meaning has been discussed enough.. And I definitely think it's one of their more underrated songs.

Blink-182 – Online Songs Lyrics 14 years ago
I agree with CJ on the meaning so I won't repeat all of that. I'm in this situation right now though and it sucks really bad, but I love how this song completely defines it. Definitely one of my top favorite Blink songs ever!

Green Day – Hearts Collide Lyrics 16 years ago
Corrections: "Where so hearts go to collide?" should be "when two hearts come to collide,"
and, "The shapes come into the light" should be "The ship's coming to the light." These lyrics hadn't been confirmed when I submitted them, this is just what I heard..
As for the meaning, I think it's pretty straightforward. This is a classic, optimistic love song from one person to another, and I quite like it. :]

Green Day – East Jesus Nowhere Lyrics 16 years ago
This is obviously about religion; the tone of the whole thing seems kind of mocking, especially, "Oh bless me lord for I have sinned / It's been a lifetime since I last confessed / I threw my crutches in "the river of a shadow of a doubt" / And I'll be dressed in my sunday best." Even while listening to it, it sounds different than the rest of the song.
Great song. I can't wait for them to tour!

Shinedown – Second Chance Lyrics 16 years ago
When I first heard this, I took it how most of you have said: Brent leaving his parents and the emotions that came with that. But I think everyone should be able to interpret songs as they wish, so here are my thoughts:
When not taking everything so literally, it seems like the speaker of this is suicidal. Going even further with that, I connected this to the Heaven's Gate suicides that someone mentioned in an earlier post, and they were right; these lyrics fit perfectly with that scenario. Perhaps that isn't what Brent was thinking when he wrote this, but the mention of Halley's comet and the fact that their letters said something about "second chances" seems pretty coincidental.

Either way, this is a great song. It's one of my favorites from Shinedown.
