| Rancid – Fall Back Down Lyrics

Rancid's songs are usually very obvious with the meaning.
And as for Rancid being sellouts, how can they be sell outs? They didn't change their beliefs to get more money, they just got big. And more power to them, they've worked hard they deserve some recognition. Just because a once underground band becomes popular doesn't make them sellouts, it just makes them successful. People needa stop confusing fame and selling out. |

Firstly; I don't give two shits about your opinion of rancid. I care about the music they make, and the music they make warms my soul.
Secondly; I think the meaning to the song is how the punk scene makes the misfits of society somewhere to belong, somewhere where they feel at home (Misfits and homless kids all call their home), free from the disgusted stares many get. I know, personally, when I'm at a show I feel like I am where I'm supposed to be and I never want to be anywhere else but there. I feel more comfortable in a crowd of sweating bodies because I know they don't give two flying fucks about the way I look. "We're among our own" C: |

| Billy Talent – This Is How It Goes Lyrics

This song gets to me everytime I listen to it or think about it. Its about Aaron's multiple scolorosis. Its so fuckin' unlucky. MS is horrid, for those who don't know about it. I'm sure you can all atleast understand its horrible, but its not just horrible for those going through it, its so horrible for those around who have to watch it. Imagine, growing up watching your dad/mom getting worse and worse. Having to watch the strongest person in your life loosing their strength. Unless you're going through it, or watching someone going through it I'm sure you'll never understand.
One of these days I will go to FUMS. |

You know, I've never noticed how Aaron or Ian end up covering his bass. Although, there is a few parts in this song where the bass is louder then the drums.
Why do they cover up Jon? Does he want it like that, or do they? o.O |

I beliieeeve that it has to do with how the person had a bad home life, they didn't like it at least, so they ran away. After he ran he couldn't get a job and was homeless, then was introduced to drugs (heroin? what with him hiding his track marks) they became his solitude, his comfort. He was lost, and never found, because his family at home didn't give a damn about him. But after a while it dawned on him that they are horrid.
The chorus, on the other hand, is explaining what drugs do. What a bad life leads to, drugs. You get lost, seperated from the pack, the loved ones then eventually you're a "Fallen Leaf" |

I don't think its about george bush, in my opinion I think it has to do with how the 'voices of voilence' or the wars in the past effect us in the present, and will effect us in the future. The "Even after I'm dead and buried, I'll still remember. Even after I'm dead and buried, I'll come back fighting" line, I think it has to do with how even when they're dead, people will remember, and when they come back fighting its the memory of how horrid it was, and how war should be stopped.
If you get the track I'm on you should get the other lines and how they tie in, honestly I don't want to type anymore, and I"m most likely annoying the people near me.
Anyway, thats just my honest opinion.
Nothin' to do with george bush. |

So, I'm trying to get a theme from a few of the songs, and I'm still not quite sure, but what's been already posted I agree with. Its about someone who wants to break free from the 'normal' life. The 8 hour days, and the 5 days a week, he wants to live life. But he's still not sure until she comes in his life and helps her. |

I think its about someone who's had their whole life given to them, "In a garage, beside a house, there is a luxury Sedan, And for his next monthly installment, Hes gonna go out with a bang! Boy who always did what he was told, Was promised to be king when he was old" but they suddenly realize that no matter what he does, he won't be happy with who he is. So, he decides to throw the money, the luxery and the glory, and finally do what he wants to do, not what he is told to do. He wants to live life his way, and he wants to forget the past, forget living in the shadows (haha, pun intented) and stand up for what he wants, not what they want. |

Let me be less vague. ^^;
The song, in my opinion, is a story about a boy or girl who’s been bullied beyond the point of no return “Kids just love to tease/Who’d know it put me underground at 17?” They become so depressed, and their self esteem becomes so low that they are turning to the darker side of suicide. Their friends have let them down, “Need more friends with wings/all the angels I know put concrete in my veins.” They feel all alone, like nothing is right and the only way to end it is to die. “There’s nothing to lose/When no one knows your name/There’s nothing to gain/But the days don’t seem to change.” Their life has begun to rotate around the same, horrid, ugly mess that is their life. They are a social outcast, a loner, and they’ve become so afraid they won’t tell anyone to get help. “My parents had no clue/That I ate all my lunches in the bathroom.” They stopped bothering trying because those adults, the ones who are supposed to help, have just shrugged it off, like nothing was wrong. “Teachers said it’s just a phase.” |

The song is a story about a boy/girl who's commited suicide because of the bullying of others. Simple, and the music video is very obvious about it. |
