As for the meaning, I've always thought of it as living in a small town were everyone hates you, but you were too poor to get out. So you lived your life there waiting for death and die without really ever living, hence "we were already dead". |

It's definitely "I'm going to shake myself right out the door" not "I'm going to let myself right out the door" As for disco sounding... it really doesn't resemble disco. But if it really does, please recommend some songs that sound like that, I must have them. |
