I believe the French in the middle goes: Avec moi, avec toi, avec coeur, avec un esprit (drawn out to "e-s-prit") Nos têtes, nos langues, nos oreilles étaient toujours remplies... Also I've always thought it was "Mon coeur, c'est fort" rather than "si fort", but I don't know how to distinguish those pronunciations in French. |

| Passion Pit – Let Your Love Grow Tall Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Rather than "They know now what to do", I think it's "They know *not* what to do", which makes more sense in context: It's the thought that counts No, quiet minds don't know their worth They know not what to do So I'll pray for them And I'll pray for you 'til my face turns blue |

| Tilly and the Wall – Lost Girls Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think the song is a lament of the fact that these girls were hidden away and "lost" as a result of Darger's reclusivity. Tilly seems to contrast the going-ons of the "unreal" world as he depicted it ("You start running", "The girls around you are so frightened", etc.) with what is meanwhile going on in Darger's life ("You're frozen quiet," "Room unfurnished, no light for nightfall"). And "since there is no end and no beginning" to the girls' existence, for not being shared with the world, they are "lost" to a perpetual state of limbo: "No one will ever save you / If no one can ever find you". So I guess it's a commentary on sharing your love and beauty with the world, and the sadness of withholding your gifts. | |
