Nice to hear of another Christian who likes RUSH! While I concur with much of your assessment of the mild mockery of "Evangelicalism" from Mr. Peart's pen (his word), in general he has claimed to be agnostic... I get a feeling that he has read and re-read Richard Dawkins and the like ad-nauseum... of course, as is usual, the critic doesn't understand what he or she is criticizing... just looking at the lyrics to BU2B, Neil doesn't understand any of the core doctrines of the New Testament, let alone the general character of God that Christians (Bible-believing) believe... the straw-men were set up and set on fire in the same song... I pray that Neil's (and the other members of Rush for that matter!) eyes and heart are opened to see the truth of the real God, and his desperate need of a Saviour... |
