I think... it sounds a lot like moving along in life. "If I follow the light That I deem the brightest I won't believe that It's always like this" But not necessarily moving on yourself. Just staying where you are and trying to impress others. "You know what I am So you know how I live Try to look proud But you're not in the slightest Its happening now And it's always been like this" And just the "I'm not whole" probably means either that lack of... Being felt like someone's proud of you... or like what hamfruitcake said, a lack of change. Either way, it's an awfully amazing song. I love this band. |

"Now it seems that you too see a painful blue When you stare into the sky" Where does this man come up with these things?? However, this song basically is talking about not being lonely. The part where he siys that people are buying things for the friends and lovers obviously state that. Meaning, that people feel obligated to buy things to the people who you care about to keep them next to your side. And I also sense a feeling of no escape. I've seen a repetition of starting a new day, so, I can only imagine that it's about starting a new life every time a new day arrives, but never does. There could be a million explanations, however that's what I got out of it. |

This song almost makes me want to cry. It's not like I've ever had a relationship like this, let alone a relationship, but his voice... kind of has this... agony but yet enjoyment in it. And I as reading the comments, I came along theycallmetaryn's comment replying to speced2000. I think... this song could obviously talking about both... and when you think about it, friendship is almost always the start of a happy loving relationship... that obviously fades away in time. |
