| Foo Fighters – Best Of You Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
"Getting the best of you" doesn't necessarily mean "getting the better of you". So this song seems to also say that if not one important person in your life ever gets to see/experience "the best of you", what the F#@^ are you actually doing with your life? |

| U2 – With or Without You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Bono's mother died when he was 14, re-read the lyrics. Tell me of a mother who doesn't give themselves away. My mother is still around and I can't live with or without her. | |
| Five for Fighting – Superman (It's Not Easy) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
It's about what it means to be a man. Everyone knows a "real man" is a bullet-proof hero. A real man is strong and dependable in the face of any challenge. A real man never cries or asks for help at any cost, even the ultimate cost. The "silly red sheet" is a metaphor for the utter BS that so many men think society expects of them. I'll never know for certain, but this song makes me cry because I think the silly red sheet is exactly what killed my uncle. |

| Cold Chisel – Saturday Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It's early Sunday morning, you're too tired to keep drinking, and you're still alone. Another week gone, another week older. The mood change on the first line "Saturday night's already old" is beautiful. "L'esclavage D'amour" is French for "The Slavery of Love" |
