| Saosin – Follow and Feel Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song takes place in the moment of time where the bridge goes "Will she go or follow" and the rest of the song seems to be reviewing every aspect of every interaction the protagonist has had with a girl. At this point where he is asking her to follow him home, he has come to the conclusion that despite a huge lack of communication that has loomed over them since (whatever incident "this won't end like last time" is referring to) the two of them are seriously in love and silently in his own head he is begging her just to give him one little sign that he's right. The last lines go "Is there something more I should have known?/I don't need to wonder" and this is where the meaning of the song comes out and he flatly states that knowing nothing for sure about something so crucial to him is not productive and he's tired of being weak and tired of basing all his conclusions about this relationship on awkward moments and distance. Cove's lyrics often shift from first to third person so theres many ways to interepret all of his songs, but for Follow and Feel I think that the only two characters are him and the girl and when he refers to either of them as "they" its almost like going from a first person POV camera angle in a movie to a wide angle shot. The chorus and the bridge feel very intimate I think the reason he uses first person there is that he's describing experiences he has had himself on his own time. The title Follow and Feel I think is addressing the communication issue between the two, because the following is obviously talking about the bridge, "Follow, please follow me home" and I think she may have followed him home a few times and thats partly how the two of them feel out or gauge whats going on between them instead of actually talking about it.
