I see two messages in this song: 1) Don't be mainstream, be yourself, come out for what you believe, listen to what you like and let others know what you like. 2) Don't be different, just to be different. Act like yourself under any circumstance. Don't be a poser, cause generally the non-posers hate them. I am neither Metal nor Punk, I like a lot of Music styles including stuff like Linkin Park, Trust Company, etc. but also Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, etc. I'm a Greenday-fan, but still mourn about Dimebag Darrel too. I fit into neither of those groups, I've been kicked out of bands because I didn't adjust to their 'image', I've been beat-up by others who thought of me as a poser. Even if it seems hard, be yourself. You'll feel better and the people close to you will appreciate you for being genuine and pure. |
