Holy fucking shit. I heard this song, and I got punched by emotion right in the back of my eyes. Fuck. I am officially a fan of this band. I kept trying to ignore them for all the gay things they keep doing (a Taylor Swift cover, touring with Hanson, wearing V-neck t-shirts, ETC.), but I can't lie anymore. I admit it. They're amazing. |

It is kind of depressing that there are no... well, few comments here. I just read about this band in AP Magazine, and I am now obsessed. This is a really touching song, too. One of my favorites off their Nightmare album. |

Or maybe we're all just reading too much into it. It's probably just about a game of hide-and-seek. You know when the game is over and you STILL can't find the most clever kid in the game. "Its okay to come out now!" Haha ... Okay. Not funny. |

Well, no one bash me for this, but when I first listened to the lyrics, I thought it was kind of about what a mess the world is and calling for Jesus to come back. Some of the lyrics make sense with this... namely "swallow the sun" and "erase the sky," both being mentioned in Revelations as Apocalypse prophecies, as I recall. I dunno. Just what I interpreted. I'm not sure how religious Rise Against is, but I'd hazard a guess at not very, so I'm probably wrong. Haha But that's just what I hear when I listen to it. I've seen some good (and possibly more sensible) interpretations here, too. |

Apparently, no one has heard of this band yet. But when they get their long-deserved record deal, I'll be waiting here for people to come and help me out with the lyrics. Obviously, I was at a loss for a few of these. Hahaha! Badger and a cutlass. I decided just to write something random. Anyway, if anyone could take a really hard listen and tell me what they hear, that'd be awesome. |

Reposting this, because I did it wrong the first time. Haha. I have the hang of things now.
Really? I definitely always interpreted this song way differently. I always imagined he was in jail, and that's why he couldn't touch her (be with her). He's begging her not to just leave him... "When they set me free, just put your hands on me" was the hint I got. When they finally let him out of jail, they can be together. I don't know. Anyone else see it this way? I definitely thought that was the message everyone was receiving. xD I wrote a video for this song and everything based on that assumption. |

First of all, this song is absolutely beautiful. It was the second song on this album that really hit me (after 21 Guns). Even though Billie Joe descibed it as "some soppy shit," I absolutely love it. xD
Concept aside (since I don't think it really makes any sense), this song reminds me of a soldier at war. Like the day before a battle that he's sure will end in tragedy, he is writing a letter to his wife back home, just to tell her for the last time that he loves her. "If I lose everything in the fire" kind of sounds like it means "if I die tomorrow." *shrug* Just my thoughts. Awesome song. |

Aww. This is such a great intro to the CD. I agree with you, SouthernPunk. When I heard it, I kind of imagined a little kid kicking his legs over the side of a dock or something. Billie Joe's voice is so cute. xD |

This song is so bomb. Definitely one of my favorites off the new album. I also love when he sings "One, 21 Guns." Fell in love with this song the second I heard that. I'm not sure I know exactly what it's about, though... I guess I have a vague idea, but I don't about the full meaning intended. |
