I think this song is really good, and the lyrics were actually written by Gustavo Cerati, not shakira. and some of the lyrics are wrong up there... it should be... "Ive cried a thousand storms Ive blown away the clouds The heartbeat of the sun is racing mine And listen how My heart is waiting" And... "Well, we know how ephemeral life is disillusion takes what illusion gives whats the use of make believe?" ...I think this song is about being in a long term relationship and having ups and downs, and being on the verge of calling it quits even. but they are compatable and must stick together. They must start anew, fresh, and with a clean slate, and if they can do that, they can move forward in their relationship and rekindle what was lost. She wants them to start now, hoping that today, right now, they can start over and forget about the past, and move on, because they were meant to be. I think its a very intelligent way of saying something very simple, lets start over. ...And its also about how life is short, thats what "ephemeral" means, and when she says "the heartbeat of the sun is racing mine" its like, if your heart was in a race with the sun, who would outlast the other? obviously the sun because again, life is too short, it doesnt go on forever. so why stay in a pickle? Its time to move on. thats all |
