| Yes, it's written and performed by Taylor Hollingsworth, but as it's released in an album by Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, and Hollingsworth is widely accepted as a member of the MVB, I don't see there's anything wrong with, in the absence of an MVB section of this website, posting these lyrics under the name of Conor Oberst. After all, people who hear the song on the album will come here to find its lyrics, not to the Taylor Hollingsworth section. | |

Beautiful song. I know that the museum island (and the Brandenburg Gate, and Potsdamer Place etc) are in Berlin. But what's the context of this? Is she referencing something in particular? Stuff like "you'd taken your last ever bus" and "waving is all that you do" makes me think of someone who's become rich, perhaps even become royalty. Mostly it seems like a song about friends who've gone in different directions. It's gorgeous, anyway. |
