I believe that in general he is lamenting that his dad will not be in heaven with him, the first verse is an introduction where he says his mom found religion and his dad left and continued to do drugs, the second verse is about how everybody gets old and dies eventually, third verse talking about making beautiful heavenly music but he can't yet because he hasn't gone to heaven, fourth I'm making a guess that he is talking to his dad. Fifth is the same as the third, no clue about the sixth, the seventh he seems to be hoping that he is wrong and that christianity isn't the only way to heaven so his dad could be there. I'm an atheist, I listen to ACB because the angst he feels about his faith is kind of amusing to me and I love the music itself. |
