This song perfectly explains my life at the moment. Im going to university next year, and scared s***less if im honest. To me it seems to be about a person at the stepping stone between childhood and adulthood,where they're no longer in their comfort zone, and 'have' to suddenly experience and live life their not used to. If there was a music video for this song, i can imagine it being of a young 9/10 year old girl or boy being a witness to really adult environments or just randomly being there. Then at the final stanza 'and then again maybe you wont' the child looking in a mirror and looking back would be a 20 year old. -the moral being, not everyone feels ready to behave the age that they are. |

To me, it looks like she has written two completely songs but then just put them together, one half of the song( the first half) i think could be about someone called Suzie? wanting respect from everyone so thinks that she will get it by lying about a murder, so that they feel like a heroine to everyone else maybe? But in reality people know shes lying as the person they are accusing would never murder a man with a broken heart. -I think that may be what that part of the song means, even though that interpreation may be too obvious. I think the second half is about someone being deeply in love with a person, but even their love cant keep the couple together which i think 'burn bright till they die' means, that all relationships will die down eventually. I also think that 'the broken spend their lives staring at the sky' may be about unrequited love, or people not accepting that the relationhip they were in has ended. I think that 'old light' is a reference to old relationships, meaning that even though they have ended, they will always have good memories. I think 'love is starlight' is a reference to how we see a person that we are in love with, we see them as perfect, flawless, amazing, like a light is being shined especially on them and noone else. I also think that the moral of the song may be that in the end relationships arent worth the heartache. |

I think the song is about a woman drinking away her problems with champaigne. I think that the problem on her mind is that she dumped someone or let a person go that she deeplycares about, although she didnt really realise how much she cared about tem at the time, but now that they're gone she misses them. I think she probably wanted to spend the rest of her life with them, married or whatever but have a 'faiytale ending' with them. and i tink that the reference to 'elderly stars' is a refernce o herself being to old now and too late to be with the person she loved. I think that the religious references to the alcohol are because of the deep need and worship she has for it as it is all she has to keep her going, i also think that the lyrics are a bit surreal which may relate to the disillusion you get when you are drunk. |

I think it's about two people being to afraid to make their love and feelings for each other public, but one of them is telling the other that they shouldn't be afraid because they love each other and that's all that matters, not what everyone else thinks. I also think that the one telling the other not to be afraid is also saying how much more important the other person is to them than anyone else they have ever been with, that they are different and special compared to everyone else, maybe that they are an exception to everyone else. |

Oh yeah, i also think that maybe the song is called little house because its refering to a closet? and i think she may be in the closet. I agree with Robstephens and Hollypatonmorris about the song, although i understand that the song could mean alot of different things including depression or disorders etc. But too me it sounds like a BIG secret that the girl is not letting out, which gave me the idea about her sexuality. This song means so much to me, im soo glad i found it. I also like how the lyrics are not really obvious as too what the song is about, so it gives people there own ideas of feelings to relate to the song. |

I love this song! Although it makes me feel sad. I also love the simpleness of the lyrics too. I think its about a child taking on the role of an adult in a way. It sounds like they are singing to an adult, but the song has lyrics that an adult may say to a child. I think the lyrics are about someone being sad with their life, but the child is telling them that they shouldnt worry because everything will work out in the end. A bit of a random meaning, but thats just what i think its saying. |

To me i think its about a young child living their childhood without the worries of an adult, most of the lines are things that a child may do. Also the last few lines from 'if there was a sequal' i think are about he child having a new younger sibling and they are worried about being replaced by them or forgotten by their parents. I also like how the tune is quite simple and happy,like what a child may listen to, even though the actual song has quite complex lyrics. |

I absolutely love this song! definately my favourite this year. Alot of people have put what they think the song is about, usually about relationship troubles and the term 'skinny love' is refering to the amount of love in the relationship, or it is the nickname for the mans partner. When i first heard the song i thought it was about suicide, i know a bad thought, but the lyrics 'Sink of blood' gave me that idea, silly really. But i also thought that it might be about a fathers daughter who is suffering from an eating disorder, maybe, and it could have been about their parents being woried about them. just an idea. |

I love this song! its got so much anger in it, especially in the chorus. It is about the two towers, obviously from the first few lines, and about people dieing as a result. I think it is almost saying that it is human beings faults that other humans die. We are not animals, we are the top of the food chain, so we are the only predators killing each other, this song is showing that in the end killing each other in wars is point less as we are all just as defenceless as each other. |

i love this song, lots!!!! I love how the start of it has an old crackly sound too. For the meaning of the song i thought it might be about a person with an eating disorder, if you look at the lyrics closely 'You are the pain', ' you crawl along exhausted' and 'if you eat yourself you will explode instead'. It is almost like the person is singing to their eating disorder 'ana'. from the lyrics 'how can i love you so when i know you dont love me.' I dont know, it just an idea. But these lyrics ment alot to me when i was suffering from my eating disorder. |
