I agree that this song definitely refers to a relationship from the past... but I don't get the impression that it refers to a breakup. Maybe it is the tempo of the song, or the passion in the guy's voice, but it doesn't sound to me like he is telling anyone he doesn't love them anymore... it sounds to me that he is giving a warning to someone he hasn't seen in a while, telling her that he has "grown older and colder" and that he doesn't even know whether he can love her again; but that he would try to... Just my two cents. BTW - this is grown to be my favorite song... ever. The Killers are pretty much amazing. |
