Alright let me start by saying everyone has their own ideas about this song, and thats straight. So lets chill and open our minds. Personally I see this song as a love/life song, as thats how it applys to my life. "Brainstorm take me away from the norm I got to tell you something this phenomenon I had to put it in a song and it goes like" Here he's simply saying I can't believe how amazing things are it unbelievable, I need to tell you. "Whoa, amber is the color of your energy whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally you ought to know what brings me here you glide through my head blind to fear and I know why whoa, amber is the color of your energy whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally" Here I would say he is saying.. your such a warm person.. and generally if your warm your more likely to have an open mind.. and the reason he's pulled towards her is because her warmth causes her to have no fear. "You live too far away your voice rings like a bell anyway don't give up your independence unless it feels so right nothing good comes easily sometimes you gotta fight" This is fairly self explanitory. It's just his way of saying you've become a big part of me, but you need to do you if thats what you want.. but this is amazing so I'm willing to fight to keep it. "Whoa, amber is the color of your energy whoa, shades of gold displayed naturally launched a thousand ships in my heart, so easy still it's fine from afar, and you know that whoa, brainstorm take me away from the norm whoa, I got to tell you something" This verse is where I become conflicted.. when he's saying "launched a thousand ships in my heart, so easy" I'm not sure if he's saying you've send my heart in a thousand directions or if he means she's given him so much love... but either way he's fine with that because everything is still amazing and he just had to put it out there. This is just how I view the song. I have a lot of great memmories I think of when I listen to it.. Actually yesterday I was supposed to go see 311 at a show called Earthday Birthday, but shit didn't work out so my ex called me during this song.. because its our song and my life song too. Yes I am a chick but this isn't the only 311 song I like no worries. |

| I don't think this song just refers to a parent child relationship. I think this song is just to reasure that no worries I'll be there. That we'll have each other, just run to me... which could be between a couple, bestfriends, or family. This is a really beautiful song as are most Dredg songs. | |
