I see it as a relationship that has had a bunch of ups and downs, and is reflecting how things have gotten better and changes over all the things they have been threw. He sounds grateful and honest. One of my favorites. |

I think lisaxletdown got it.
I could see how the first part could maybe be about Jonny but after I think it is a generalization of how bad things have gotten, morally. The whole bit about "where has our honor gone..." Reminds me of how things are done now a days, people screw people they barley know, people spend all their money on drugs and so on. It just all sounds too familiar. "Something is very fucking wrong." I agree.
The second part I'm not sure what it's about but I love the vocal duet. It's hauntingly enchanting.
