when i hear this song, i hear God calling out to me, his child, telling me he misses me. It gives me the chills just about every time i hear it because it just reminds me how my Lord is madly in love with me. When he says "Ironically dissatisfied" i see that as God, though the creator of the universe, still can be dissatisfied in just a mediocre relationship with me. He wants it all from me but i still only give him part of me to know. Another way i have thought about this song is actually quite chilling. Next time you listen to it, imagine that it is Jesus Christ singing to one of his loved ones that have died without giving their lives to him. Imagine he is singing to a soul he has lost to an eternity away from him.... |
