I don't know about you lot, but I think this is an optimistic song. He is crying because he is so happy, he is just questioning if that is normal. The slide show are those happy images and great moments that stay with you forever. That is why at the end Fran says "I hope it's not the last time". It is his first moment of joy, taking pleasure in the mundane things not always hoping and waiting for one defining moment (i.e. a big hit song) or what they describe. Awesome song and album too!! such easy listening |
