This song, and this whole album actually, is about the actual 4th Dimensional Transition. aka Ascension into the 4th and 5th dimensions and beyond, that is happening to everyone as we speak, whether you realize it or not. See ya on the flipside, friends! =P |

| Probably not what this song is actually about, but it reminds me of Hunger Games. | |

Wow I thought more people would have thought this about the song. I think this song is about wanting to have an affair. I want to live where soul meets body And let the sun wrap its arms around me, And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing And feel... feel what it's like to be new. I think this is a description of what it would feel like to make love to someone new. 'Cause in my head There's a Greyhound station Where I set my thoughts To far-off destinations So they may have a chance Of finding a place where they're Far more suited than here. This is him talking about his fantasy, knowing that is all it is. He is saying how sometimes he goes into dreamland where he can live in the fantasy for awhile because to try and think of it as a reality is not quite as wonderful because to have an affair comes with consequences. I cannot guess what we'll discover When we turn the dirt With our palms cupped like shovels, But I know our filthy hands Can wash one another's And not one speck will remain. To venture into such an affair would taint them both, but they will both be justified because their intentions are pure. After all, the affair isn't just about sex, it is a meeting of soul and body. It is a dream of a heavenly and earthly union between two souls/bodies. Apparently the object of his fantasy is someone he feels a very strong spiritual and emotional connection to. I do believe it's true That there are roads left in both of our shoes, (it isn't too late for us to change our minds about what we do with our lives and who we choose to be with) But if the silence takes you Then I hope it takes me too. (and if you happen to decide to go for me, in a gripping moment of passion, then I hope that at that moment I also decide to go for you too - rather than say "no I can't") So brown eyes, I'll hold you near, 'Cause you're thee only song I want to hear. (I am just going to keep on daydreaming about you because it is all I really feel like doing.) A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere. (That is just how awesome it feels to life in the fantasy) Where soul meets body......... |

| I think your interpretation is brilliant! :) | |
| The Shins – Sea Legs Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I agree with this interpretation. "And when the dog slides underneath the train" I think is referring to the girl's current guy. Once she leaves with the new guy, her old guy will come looking, but she will never have to see his pain. | |
| Radiohead – Where I End and You Begin. (The Sky Is Falling In.) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I didn't read all 4 pages so forgive me if someone already said this and I didn't give you credit. =P I think it is about how, here on earth we are human and separated by flesh. We are finite and we are vulnerable and temporary and fragile. But in the spirit we are one constant thing. Thom does not enjoy being in the flesh in this song because of its vulnerability. He understands much easier how to think and be from the perspective of the spirit much better than that of the flesh. That's what I think. |
