I always thought this line had something to do with Nietzsche. He describes faith as being bullshit in this song too, which adds to my presumption. |

I found out the meaning of this song in the book 'Touch Me I'm Sick' by Tom Reynolds. Its strange how most people think the song is just about a boy finding out about his real Dad and thats it. I for one never questoned the rest of the song. |

My interpretation is that the song is about fulfilling yourself. 'Life's a bummer when you're a hummer' could just be about that life isn't so good when your just sitting back humming to a song when really it should be you in the limelight. 'When I woke up from that sleep, I was happier than i've ever been' could be about stepping out of dreams and into reality, that sense of fulfilment after applying youself.
I dont really get the fell that this is a love song though.
I understand that this could be complete bollocks and probably sounds that way, but yeah nevertheless its a great song. |
